"My name is Isaia Carter and the first voice I hear asks me if I have come here to save the world. I turn around to see who spoke to me. It is a quarter past five in the morning and I have just landed". For several months we shared the body of Isaia Carter, becoming residents of Second Life, a virtual world frequented by millions of people. We explored this potentially infinite space, sounding out its spirit, touring its venues and meeting people who, like us, found themselves there. While Isaia grew and her conscience evolved, we realised that it was precisely this non-human experience that was worth recounting. But we discovered that the best way to reproduce this fiction with the maximum fidelity was to use the filter of narrative fiction. The result is a novel based on real-life events."
